Description

BADER® DENTAL® Cavity Detector

This product serves as an aid to recognize/control carious tissue, especially in dentin during excavation in already open cavities.

Content:

  • Charging station with power pack with 2 charging modes (SLOW and FAST).
  • Probe.
  • Fiber optic guide 90°.
  • Fiber optic guide 45º.
  • Diagnostic glasses.

Characteristics:

  • Power: 60-250W
  • LED wavelength (λ): ~ 400nm
  • Glasses filter: >500
  • Ambient temperature: 10ºC to 40ºC (50ºF to 104ºF)
  • Atmospheric pressure: 700hPa - 1060hPa

Operation:

The tooth is illuminated with violet light during excavation, causing carious tissue as well as healthy dentin to fluoresce. The user observes the cavity through a filter. With the filter, the shorter wavelengths, i.e. especially violet light, are eliminated. The components of the light with longer wavelengths are visible through the filter, so that the red fluorescence of a cavity can be recognized in particular. This red fluorescence can be well recognized and differentiated from healthy tooth tissue, which emits green fluorescence. In this way, carious tissue can be specifically removed with the rosette bur or scaler.

Handling:

  1. Put on the diagnostic goggles.
  2. Keep the luminous probe in the patient's mouth.
  3. Press the rotary switch (A) (on-off). The rotation is 90°. The direction of rotation does not matter. > The light probe is switched on.
  4. If the rotary switch (A) (on-off) is turned again (rotates in the same direction or rotates in the opposite direction) the light probe is switched off.
