Description of the Amalgam Separator and Recovery Filter

The amalgam filter for dental suction and dental equipment features a very compact design, easy to install, universal and with various accessories to adapt to different vacuum systems.

The separator BADER has been specially designed for the complete recovery and separation of mercury from dental amalgams.

• The amalgam filter features a compact design (25.5 cm x 10.2 cm) so that it can be installed on the side of dental equipment or in a small space in the dental cabinet.
• Can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
• Includes 6 fittings to adapt to different vacuum system tubes. Sizes: 14mm, 18mm and 25mm.

Removing amalgam is not only environmentally friendly, but also protects the central vacuum lines that trap it before it reaches the main system filters, preventing wastewater contamination.

As marked by Regulation (EU) 2017/852 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2017 on mercury in point 21 and 22.

... a minimum level of retention efficiency should be set for amalgam separators. The compliance of amalgam separators should be based on relevant standards, such as the European standard EN ISO 11143:2008. In view of the magnitude of the economic operators in the dental sector affected by the introduction of such requirements....

And Article 10.4:

... Effective January 1, 2019, operators of dental cabinets that use dental amalgam or that remove dental amalgam fillings or extract teeth containing such amalgams shall ensure that their cabinets have amalgam separators to retain and collect amalgam particles, including those contained in the water used ...
